The first-generation BMW 1 Series is a compact executive car produced by the German automaker BMW since 2004.  The 3-door and 5-door hatchbacks were replaced by the F20 and F21 models in 2012, while the E82 coupé and E88 convertible variants were replaced by the 2 Series F22 and F23 in 2013.  Available in 3-door hatchback (model code E81), 5-door hatchback (E87), coupe (E82) and 2-door convertible (E88) body styles.

Differential noise is a very common problem on the BMW 1 Series, it affects all models and all sizes of diff.
Most noise issues are caused by worn pinion bearings, the bearings are a ball roller type and commonly fail from around 70,000 miles.

This kit will service most BMW 1 Series (116/118d/120) cars up to July 2008 with 4 bolt front prop shaft flange, bearings after this year can be different. 
It will not suit 120d /123d/125d & 130/135i.  If you have a 1 series that is newer than mid 2008 please send us your bearing numbers and we will check if we can help you.
